Privacy Policy

Cap-Tac-Toe · Last updated: 1 November 2026

This policy explains what data the Cap-Tac-Toe game (Android package dev.sharkgames.captactoe) collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it. The short version: we keep only what the game needs to run online matches, a rating and a friends list. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell your data.

Who is responsible

The game is made by Shark Games, run by Dmitry Tutrorin, Czech Republic (the data controller). Contact: support@sharkgames.dev.

What we collect

When you play online

DataWhy
Device identifier — the app-specific ID the operating system gives the game (Android ID), or a random ID if none is available Creates your guest account and signs you in automatically, without a password.
Account ID — a random ID our server assigns Identifies your account in matches, the leaderboard and friend lists.
Nickname Shown to other players in matches, the leaderboard and friend lists.
Game statistics — rating, wins, losses and draws, the bot's difficulty level for you Rating, leaderboard, matchmaking and adapting the bot to you.
Friends — friend requests, friends and players you blocked; whether you are online and whether you are in a match The friends list and match invitations. Your online status is visible only to your friends.
Reports — when you report a player, or a player reports you: the reason (nickname or behaviour), both nicknames and the time Moderation: keeping nicknames appropriate and play fair.

Moves in a match are processed on the server while the match is running and are not stored afterwards — only the result is used to update the rating and statistics.

If you sign in with Google or Apple

Linking a Google or Apple account lets you keep your progress on a new device. We receive and store the account identifier from Google or Apple, and the email address, name and profile picture link that the provider shares. We use them only to sign you in; your email address, name and picture are not shown to other players. If you choose to hide your email with Apple, we only get the relay address Apple gives us.

If you add an email and password

Where the game offers it, you can add an email address and password to your account to sign in on another device. The password is stored only as a secure hash. We do not send you marketing emails.

On your device only

Language, sound and music volume and similar settings are stored on your device and are not sent to us.

Technical data

To connect to the game server, your device's IP address is necessarily processed. We do not store IP addresses in our database. Server logs contain account IDs and technical details of errors; they are rotated automatically and kept only for a short time.

What other players can see

Your nickname, rating and match statistics are visible to other players (for example, an opponent or the leaderboard). Your friends also see whether you are online or in a match. Nothing else about your account is shown to other players.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. Data is processed only by the services needed to run the game:

We may disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep data

Deleting your account

In the game: Settings → Profile → Delete account. This deletes your account, nickname, rating, statistics, friends and linked sign-ins immediately. Without the game, see how to request deletion.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it, by writing to support@sharkgames.dev. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority; ours is the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ).

Children

Cap-Tac-Toe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

Connections between the game and the server are encrypted (HTTPS / secure WebSocket). The server accepts only the connections the game needs, and access to it is restricted to the developer.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will also let players know in the game.
